Over the years I have taken many Business Technology classes. In high school alone, I am taking or have taken:

• Computer Applications I and II
• Fundamentals of Technology
• Computer Engineering Technology I
• Digital Media I
• E-commerce

These classes have helped me learn a great deal about computers and how they work and operate. If I ever wanted to pursue a career in computer programming/design/engineering, I would have a large advantage over the next person coming out of high school because of all the classes I have taken. I have learned how to:

• Write documents such as business letters, memos, etc
• Publish newspapers
• Make spreadsheets and mailing lists
• Maintenance a computer
• Put together/take apart a computer
• Replace internal computer parts
• Work Photoshop and Avid to some degree
• Create/edit websites

This information could help me in pursuing a number of different computer-related careers. I don't plan on pursuing one of these careers but they might be a useful fallback if my first career choice fails. Outside of a career, these learned skills could be useful when using my home computer for work. A few examples would be creating a band logo, making a video of some sort, writing papers, keeping my computer up to date, etc. Overall, the skills I have acquired in these business technology classes will come in handy in one way or another.
